Joker 2 has been Rated R due to 'Strong Violence and Nudity'

“Joker: Folie à Deux” (Joker 2) has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association due to 'Strong Violence and Nudity'.

It is the sequel to the 2019 Joker movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Joker 2.

Joker 2 has the same strong violence, nudity, and disturbing language as the original Joker, which was also rated R, disturbing for audiences.

Directed by Todd Phillips, “Joker: Folie à Deux” repeats the performance of Joaquin Phoenix as the title character of the movie, with Lady Gaga also joining the cast as his mad lover, Harley Quinn. There are more stars involved, including Zazie Beetz, Catherine Keener, and Brendan Gleeson.

The plot details of the movie have been kept hidden, but in March, Variety exclusively revealed that the movie will mostly be like a jukebox musical, featuring popular songs from the 90s. One song said to be included is “That’s Entertainment” from the 1953 film “The Band Wagon,” sung by Judy Garland. However, at least one or two original songs are said to be used in the movie according to the report.

The previous Joker won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2019, also earning $1 billion worldwide and receiving 11 Oscar nominations. The actor Joaquin Phoenix, who played the role of Arthur Fleck as Joker, earned the Best Actor Oscar award.

Lady Gaga also made a successful comeback in Hollywood after a long time, having starred in movies like “A Star Is Born” and “House of Gucci.” At the 2019 Oscar awards, she was nominated for her best performance in “A Star Is Born,” and the track "Shallow," a song from the movie, won the Best Original Song award.

“Joker: Folie à Deux” will be released in theaters on Oct. 4 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
